Consider the Field of a Certified Dietary Manager
Graduates of the Nutrition and Food Service Management program gain classroom and clinical experience in management of commercial and institutional food service operations. Individuals will learn about routine nutritional services, ordering supplies, equipment, and food maintenance. They will also gain experience in data management for food services and will learn to apply human relations techniques to personnel issues. Students who graduate with a Technical Certificate in Nutrition and Foodservice Management are eligible to sit for the exam to become a Certified Dietary Manager.
Certified Dietary Managers work in a variety of settings, including but not limited to long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities, acute care hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, school nutrition programs, and correctional facilities. Graduates have the opportunity to continue their nutrition education at BRTC by pursuing the Associate of Applied Science in Nutrition and Dietetics.
