Black River Technical College (BRTC) is seeking qualified applicants for potential adjunct faculty positions for the Fall 2019 semester. Adjunct faculty are professionals hired on a per-course, per-semester basis to instruct online, hybrid, and/or traditional classroom courses to BRTC students. Courses may be offered at either the Pocahontas or the Paragould campuses.
BRTC’s fall semester officially begins on August 12, 2019 and ends on December 11, 2019. Qualified applicants are being sought for the following disciplines:
- Oral Communications
- Fine Arts Musical
- Fine Arts Theater
- Criminal Justice
- Medical Coding
- Machining & CNC
Minimum qualifications for adjunct courses are typically a Master’s degree with at least eighteen graduate hours in the discipline being taught. Prior experience teaching courses in higher education is preferred. For courses being taught online and hybrid, experience with Moodle or a similar Learning Management System is preferred. Successful applicants will possess competence and experience to develop, implement, and assess the curriculum to ensure students are achieving set learning outcomes. Applicants should also possess expertise in the discipline being taught, commitment to higher education regulations, dedication to student success, and excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these basic requirements, upon review and approval from college administration. Compensation is per-course and is based upon the number of credits students earn in the course.
