The graduates of the two-year Respiratory Care program are prepared to become members of the critical care team in hospital ICU and Emergency Transport settings. Through this program, individuals learn to use mechanical ventilators and monitoring equipment to support breathing. They learn to assist the physician in Pulmonary Function, Cardiopulmonary Stress Testing, and Arterial Blood Gas Labs, where they may assist in the determination of the type and extent of disease and monitor the responsiveness to a particular treatment regimen.
