
The AA in Teaching degree introduces students to the teaching profession and allows them to complete hours that will transfer into a baccalaureate degree program in education. This degree allows students, with careful attention to the curricular requirements at the senior institution to which they plan to transfer, to fulfill lower division courses required for an education degree in three tracks: Middle School Math/Science; Middle School Language Arts/Social Sciences/ and Early Childhood Education.
This degree will focus on three tracks: Middle School Math/Science, Middle School Language Arts/Social Sciences, and Early Childhood Education.
In order to assure quality and equality with the students who begin their education majors at the four-year institutions, this degree will meet the following requirements:
- The students will have a final grade point average of at least 2.65
- The students will pass Praxis I, which is an academic skills assessment measure designed to be taken early in their college careers to measure reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
- Take the CAAP Test
