Registration Checklist

Obtain an application online or by calling the Pocahontas campus admission office at (870) 248-4000, Extension(s) 4011, 4014, 4017 or the Paragould campus admission office at (870) 239-0969, Extension 114.

You cannot register for classes until all paperwork has been submitted and approved.

Other forms of identification accepted are:

Have your high school submit an official copy of your high school transcript (with an official signature, school seal, and graduation date) or a copy of your GED scores to BRTC.  You may also bring your records/scores to BRTC in a sealed envelope.

If you have eighteen or more college hours from an accredited institution of higher learning, it is not necessary to submit a high school transcript.

Submit an official copy of transcripts from all colleges preciously attended.

Transcripts must be brought in to BRTC in a sealed envelope or mailed directly from the transferring institution to:

Submit ACT, SAT, or COMPASS scores to BRTC.  If you have not taken these tests, you may submit proof of compliance with state remediation laws if you have less than 30 earned credit hours at an accredited college or university.

These tests will determine whether you need to take developmental math, English, or reading courses.  If you have not taken one of the above tests, you may take the ACT or COMPASS at BRTC.  The Freshman Assessment and Placement (PDF) document identifies the scores needed on the exams to bypass developmental courses at BRTC.

Provide proof of immunization against Measles, Rubella, and a MMR Booster.

(students born before January 1, 1957 will not be required to provide proof of immunization)

These immunizations are not mandatory for students taking courses for enrichment.

The BRTC Student Orientation Website will lead you through the process for enrolling in the college and starting your education successfully.

Once you meet with an Academic Advisor (Mary Anderson, Shana Akers, or Carolyn Collins – Paragould Campus), a program advisor will be assigned to you.  You must meet with your program advisor each semester in order to remove the semesterly advisement holds.

Not meeting with your assigned advisor will prevent you from registering for class.

The Arkansas Course Transfer System (ACTS) contains information about the transferability of courses within Arkansas public colleges and universities. Students are guaranteed the transfer of applicable credits and equitable treatment in the application of credits for admissions and degree requirements. Students may complete specified General Education courses anywhere in the public system as well as many courses in the degree/major that have been pre-identified for transfer.  This system is designed to assist in planning from the high school level through the adult workforce.
