Trained professionals help beginning students plan their degree program and first semester classes. Academic advisors will not make decisions, but will provide information, options, and advice to help students make their own choices. Returning students are assigned a faculty advisor whose field most closely matches the student's major. Students are expected to meet with an advisor at least once each semester and to work out a degree plan if a specific academic degree is sought.
